Avatar size too small!

Postby joli3ma3 » Sun May 24, 2015 6:42 pm

It's incredibly difficult to get a half decent avatar because the file size is so small!

Any chance we may enjoy a larger size in the future?

Thanks for all you do!

how did you manage to get yours to work? mine is miniature and awful. i found it hard to get the pixels small enough. you can use tinypic to resize, but the total size of kb was still too much. no idea who controls the size. but it was hard to work with
as usual, my link is in my siggies

I played around with tinypic and some others, and had the same trouble, kb was still over limit.

After much frustration, I ended up creating my avatar here:

And then resized the saved image here:

After shrinking down the pic, playing around with the "sharpen" and "image quality" finally got me within the limit.

File size limit lifted for now; just keep it at or under 90px by 90px . This may be changed after review, but I don't think it's going back to where I found it.

I had some trouble too, but in photoshop elements (for those that have it), I used the "save for web" option and it helped the avatar go through

For those lucky enough to have a Mac, it's pretty easy to get a good result within the limitations
